$27k engine rebuild. Any bets on how little this sells for?
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I thought BaT was for cool cars

Way too early for an April Fools joke.

Less than the cost of that engine rebuild is my guess. The white wrap looks awful with the black parking sensors, and I give the seller credit for fessing up to why the car is wearing a wrap to begin with.

BaT with their occasional suspect entries...

Hard to say, but I will guess under 20k.
That thing doesn’t sound nearly as mean as my mom’s C5 which only has headers and beyond . Where did the other $26k go?

$27k engine work... no dyno numbers. Hmm.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 16:49 |

Yup, that’s what I’m thinking.
Wrap is bad, wheels are bad, auto is bad...
![]() 09/24/2018 at 16:50 |

I mean, they’ll list anything if you pay them, right?

$35k

engineered automotive is a no joke shop too. the shit you see inside their walls....
![]() 09/24/2018 at 16:54 |

Yea those wheels...making those discs look tiny.

Were these available with a manual?
I don’t like these things to begin with - they come from an era when GM wasn’t really capable of building stiffly-suspended convertibles that weren’t rattletraps. Whenever I see one (there’s at least 1-2 in my area), all I can think of are squeaks and rattles - and I don’t like the look to begin with.

27k is almost used C6ZO6 money. It's also gotta be enough to swap in an LS7 over the broken Nopestar. I don’t understand.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:08 |
|
No. All XLR's are automatics.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:10 |

Looks like no (as boredalways noted). Just assumed they did.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:11 |

I cannot comprehend why someone would choose to spend $27k rebuilding a Northstar instead of just swapping in an LS.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:11 |

Not questioning their ability, just the owner’s taste and sanity.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:11 |

I’d be surprised if it brings over 30.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:13 |

I can’t comprehend choosing those wheels either, so...

“My mom drives a Corvette.” =)
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:22 |

thats what I’m saying. I know the work done to it is worth but...
but why
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:23 |

Ah, thanks - I kinda thought so, because Cadillac (and this was before the CTS/ATS-V manuals).
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:25 |
|
It probably has the firewall support for a manual swap tho.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:36 |

those wheels are fucking terrible
![]() 09/24/2018 at 17:40 |
|
I just started my car and before I let it warm up or the engine fall to idle, let me rev it multiple times to 5krpm. Great sales tactic.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 18:29 |

Wow. I never thought I’d s ay this about that style of wheels but... t hey look good on that car.

Kooks headers with drilled-out catalytic converters
Because fuck the environment, I want anothe r 5 hp.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 18:47 |

Autotrader has most of these in the $25-30k range, so given the work I don’t think 35k is out of the question. I also wouldn’t be surprised if it went for less than 30k though

My mom always drove cool cars and insisted on manual transmissions, I miss her, if yours is still around you should call her and give her a hug!
![]() 09/24/2018 at 19:54 |
|
$16,000. Whoever put those wheels on it should get a stern talking to.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 19:55 |

Actually this isn't the case. They turn cars away.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 21:22 |

I’ll be able to soon! Thanks.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 21:22 |

Good.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 21:23 |

Incorrect.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 21:24 |

Originality brings more on BaT.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 21:37 |
|
seconded.
![]() 09/24/2018 at 23:25 |

I’d rather just get a manual Corvette personally, but I guess if you want something out of the ordinary and less reliable...
![]() 09/25/2018 at 00:01 |
|
Definitely less than the engine rebuild. I'll say 24.5k
![]() 09/25/2018 at 08:58 |
|
That’s probably about right. It’s up to $25 00!
